Located in Cabilao Island off Bohol province, La Estrella Beach Resort is a dream destination particularly for diving and snorkeling! Cabilao is a 7.2 sq. km. tongue shaped island, which is under the jurisdiction of Loon, Bohol. Its surrounding crystal clear water makes it ideal for diving and snorkeling. Scuba divers and Snorkelers are enthusiastic about the variety of the reef because the island is almost completely surrounded by an intact coral reef.
Aside from diving and snorkeling, the following activities are also available in and around the resort.
Trekking
A favorite activity of the owner is to gather the environmentalists for a riverboat ride and a trekking adventure on the emerald waters of Moalong River.
Walk to the lake.
Cabilao has a small lake, just a short walk away from the resort. Snap pictures of the blacked-winged stilts and egrets that inhabit the lake area.
Dancing/Party
The owners passionate dancer especially Latin so be prepared for an occasional dance evening.
Biking
There are bicycle and motorbikes for rent at the resort so that you can easily wander around this small island. A small number of motorcycles is the main land transportation within the island.
The resort itself has 2 Deluxe double bungalows, 1 Superior-Delux double bungalow, 1 Hobbit house, 4 A-Frame and 3 Safari bungalows, all made of local materials. Native furniture graces the rooms and an electric fan cool it on hot days. Each has its own spacious toilet and bathroom with cold shower and an airy terrace. In front and around some rooms are hammocks provided for your reading convenience and for you to swing your blues away.Â
The resort’s private generator supplies electricity (220V, 60 Hz) to the restaurant at daytime.
While the island’s generator supplies power to the whole resort from 6:00 pm to 12:00 midnight. Solar lamps illuminate the resort’s surroundings at night.Â
Estrella (Babie) Zagorski, owner of the resort, has an exotic garden, which prides itself of a wide variety of flowers/orchids, ornamental and herbal plants and trees. She grows her own bergamot, ginger, galangal, basil, lemon grass, turmeric and plenty of Aloe Vera. Â
