Oops Bar Cottages

Tucked behind Oops Bar and Cafe is a tranquil and charming sanctuary of nipa huts clustered together like a typical Filipino village. These clean and well-maintained cottages offers basic amenities with its own toilet and bathroom. Though the cottages don’t have air-conditioning, they very clean and equipped with electric fans. And since the cottages are made of indigenous and natural materials, the place is cool and breezy. The nipa huts have gorgeous little balcony with seat outside and space to dry your clothes.

There’s no swimming pool but you have the clear waters of Bohol sea and the powder white sands of Alona Beach. There’s no hot water, not that you’d need it. Bottled water is provided in the room and a water cooler outside to top up when you require.

Food in the restaurant is excellent and reasonably priced. The bar also runs happy hour promotions at different times on different drinks. Staff are fantastic and can organise day trips, transfers etc. they even organised someone to come and cut my hair for a very reasonable price!

Lush and simple. Unpretentious and bucolic. Oops Cottages. It’s one of Alona’s best-kept secrets.

Playa Blanca Beach Resort

Playa Blanca boasts of no-frills resort right along Alona Beach. It has native cottages that are in simple design but still a good deal. Most rooms can accommodate 3 persons with double bed and a single bed inside and equipped with a clean bathroom.

At a daily rate of 800 (fan) to 1500(aircon), the price is already cheap for a resort in the Alona beach area in Panglao. This resort is best for those who only need a place to stay and don’t need other amenities. The best part of it is that the beach is just outside the resort.

Trudis’ Place started in August 1986 as a “sari-sari” store or small convenience store fronting the Alona beach in Tawala, Panglao Island, Bohol. It was back when tourism in Panglao is not as vibrant as it is today. A few weeks after the store opened, it began serving coffee because several customers were asking for beverage. Not long after, the store began serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. And then before you know it, Trudis offered native cottages which were converted into a two storey that we see today.

Convenience is another key why Trudi’s is very popular. With the powdery white sand beach just outside the door of the resort, you only need to step out of your room to enjoy this paradise called Panglao. When you want to have your mall-fix, Tagbilaran city is just a few minutes away. Internet and cellphone coverage is also strong in this area. so that you can immediately and easily share your vacation photos to your friends and families.

On top of the spectacular sea side view, Trudi’s Place serves “Trudi’s Delight”, a specialty unique to Trudi’s Place that is a must-eat delicacy with a heavenly taste. Trudi’s restaurant also serves a variety of Filipino and European dishes. It is the same dishes that Trudi learned from her European customers back when her small sari-sari store is the only place where tourists can buy food. Of course, delicacies has grown into a fusion of Filipino and European tastes that Trudi’s can now call her own.
