While ample high class accommodation is available within the renowned Panglao Island for the moneyed vacationer, few places exist which can provide immediate and easy access to the main beach facilities at the popular Alona Beach, clean and well maintained rooms, and peace and tranquility at a price affordable for the budget traveler. Citadel Alona, completed in early 2005, now provides bed & breakfast accommodation for groups and individuals at its site, a mere 8 minute walk (400m) from the beach, to fill this need.

Scuba World Bohol is right at the Aquatica Resort. Dives are about US $ 25, including tanks, weights, weight belt, boat and services of a professional Divemaster. Courses are offered from Open Water to Instructor.

Anyone can go diving in corral reef sanctuary which is just 4 meters from where the hotel is sitting. On low tide, you can just walk and see the stretch of perfect corrals and or you can go snorkling for a better view. On summer time, water is crystal clear and school of fish is visible from the parapet in the garden.

Not distant from this Panglao Island getaway resort are the crystal clear blue waters, hence, magnificent dive spots. Diving is the main thing when you go to Kalipayan. The coral gardens are amazing to look at especially the active fauna of fishes and sea eels. A ten minutes boat from Danao Beach is the dive site of Kalipayan.

Kalipayan Beach Resort is located at the southern end of Alona beach with an area around 11,000 square meters. One facility you can hang out in is the ones provided by the Atlantis Dive Center Kalipayan. It is located though not exactly at Kalipayan at Alona Beach Tawala Panglao Island, Bohol. It’s just around the corner of Kalipayan Beach Resort so you might want to check it. They include cottages with nine rooms, swimming pools, pool bar, restaurant, seaside terrace, restaurants, and of course, a dive shop.

Kalipayan Beach Resort is in itself one of the large number of hotels, resorts, and other facilities for tourists concentrated in Tagbilaran and around Alona Beach. The pool is very inviting for relaxation while the restaurant at Kalipayan Beach Resort is nourishing and rejuvenating as they offer both European and Filipino cuisine. The dive shop is just over some meters from the seaside.

As with comes the room amenities, the Kalipayan Beach Resort offers more than you can think of. It comes with a king size bed or two single beds. Plus there are family rooms, four, with two king size beds and one single bed. As you come in you will see a scatter of flower petals reading ‘welcome.’ The cottages are all equipped with one bathroom with hot and/or cold showers. There are also air conditioning, fans, and the luxury of terrace views.

Getting There

From Tagbilaran, bust take a cab to Alona Beach and than at Rona’s Corner, ask the taxi to turn right and continue on the main road. You will see the signboard Atlantis Dive Center and Kalipayan Beach Resort after just one kilometer of travel. You can now turn left and travel three meters more and you have now officially arrived at Kalipayan.
